I have a confession. I really didn't think through the title of my last post, and spent about 30 minutes Friday morning trying to pick out a "rock n' roll" outfit.  This is what I wore on Friday, to my office Christmas party. Oh, and to set up all the tables, chairs, and decorations in between.  Luckily these are my comfy heels.

Basic basic basic.

What worked:
Four short months ago, at the conclusion of my first 30 for 30 challenge, I declared, "I don't think I like the skinny jeans + heels look on me."  I'd like to recant that statement.  Maybe it was the type of heels I tried out before, but I've been really into it this time.

What didn't:
That weird cowlick bang thing.  Oh, hair.

What's your feel on skinny pants + heels?  Love it, or is it not quite for you?

  1. You look great, I'm happy you reconsidered skinny jeans (they can be so great for night time). Hope you had fun at the party!

I can't get over how your library makes the perfect backdrop for your pictures. Love it :)

  2. I think this look is STELLAR on you, lady. And I'm a huge fan of skinnies and heels overall.

  3. Oh my goodness! I love those jeans! AND that necklace!! THis is one of my very favorite outfits of yours! YAY

  4. Amen on what works! I really like skinny jeans on you! ...though I don't think I can pull off the look either (but my thighs are a great deal larger thn yours and I PROLLY shouldn't own skinny jeans in the first place! haha!)

And bless your heart - we would have forgiven you if you didn't rock n roll just for us, but you do look just hella adorable :)

  5. P.S. those shoes kick a lot of "ask!"

  6. I love skinny pants and heels! This combo is actually one of my favorite to wear. Love that blazer!

  7. I adore this look; it's awesome!

And I was actually thinking your hair looked really cute in these pics!

  8. I love the skinnies and heels combo. The rock and roll necklace was just the right touch. it adds personality to the outfit.

check out my Day and Night Monday series. i think it's great for your professional link list.

  9. I really like the "basic basic basic" look (I tend to go for those a lot myself). I especially like your necklace - definitely a little rock n' roll.

  10. I LOVE skinny pants and heels. Love love love. That necklace is awesome.

  11. Love the skinny jeans and heels look, especially when paired with a blazer! It looks effortlessly chic and though basic, the accessories pack a punch! =)

  12. i like this outfit! rock 'n roll, you say? i say sassy and trendy, woot! i love skinny jeans and heels, hot :)

angel, i need help. went to nordie's rack the other day to shop for skinny jeans...i think im all confused on the fit and how it should look on me. how come i feel like they'll fit fine and then have VPL (i hate thongs!)? or, if i get them hemmed...will the tailor know to make it super thin around my ankles? *confused and frustrated* needless to say, i walked out without any skinny jeans (tho with plenty of other gifts for others :P)

  13. I love the little bit of rock 'n roll! Totally love skinnies. Always!

  14. @ virginie - thanks! haha "library" :) This sad little bookshelf...I love my built-ins, though!

@ Sal - thank you! I think I like it too.

    @ ashley - thanks!

@ ester - it took me foreeevvvvvveeer to get skinny jeans...I like these because they aren't that tight, but they are skinny.

    @ lindsay - me too (well, now I do :P )

@ elizabethashleyphoto - haha thanks for the nice comment about my hair! I actually just started trying to deepen my part--so far so good!

@ L - oo I love your transition from day to night! So fun!

@ amelia - it's actually a bunch of necklaces all together...can't pick just one. :)

    @ meredith - thanks, girl!

@ stylepint - I know, I can't believe I just got into this just now! I've been missing out!

@ t - heh heh, yeah, not too rock n'roll. Skinny jeans are hard--don't get them if you don't love them! I never wear thongs...but my jeans aren't too tight so it doesn't really show. Maybe we should go shopping together after Christmas.

@ elaine - thanks girl! I do love my skinnies.

  15. The skinny jeans and heals look GREAT on you. But I am hesitant too. I wore that combo in my 30 and wrote that I felt like Sandy in made me feel a little sassy.

  16. I don't know what I like moreL The outfit or the fact that someone else has board games. Let me know if you ever want to play some together!
p.s. I am a fellow remixer and also found you via Tiffany over at myfashionepiphany

  17. @ linda w - Yes! That describes the feeling perfectly! Like Sandy. But without the cool hair. :)

@ Bre - We love our board games! Actually just had friends over tonight to play some. So much fun.

  18. Yes, yes, yes.
These heels and jeans look fab on you.
I have tried the look and feel totally disproportionate in it... ;(

  19. @ Lorena - Try it again with a different top! The first few times I did this I hated it. Oddly enough, a more fitted top helped with the balance (previously I'd tried more volume on top to balance the thin bottom, but all it did was accentuate the slimness of the bottom).
