Executive Summary | Links for your weekend | 11.05.10

Biz cards! Big thanks to Miss Malaprop for hosting the giveaway that snagged me 500 of these babies for free (well, I had to pay for shipping).  They're not perfect, because I designed them. But that's okay, because they're very me.

Hello lovelies! How quickly did this week go by for you all? Not quickly enough for me. It's November!  This week was so gorgeous in Northern California -- mid- to high 70s and sunny -- I nearly forgot it was fall!

Things I'm looking forward to this weekend:
  • Sacramento Fashion Blogger Meet-up!  My first!  I'm so excited to meet some of Sac's most stylin' ladies tomorrow.
  • 30 for 30!  Picking out some items for the latest rendition of Kendi's infamous challenge.  This time: the work week edition (M-F for 6 weeks--my variant but I'll share)
  • Christmas prep (yup, I'm an early bird): making our Christmas wish lists (my in-laws want them at Thanksgiving), creating gift lists of our own, and (this is my favorite part) starting on our DIY Christmas cards.  Hint: It involves blank cards and washi/paper tape. Stay tuned!
Plus, check out my workspace on the Shoplet blog this week!

On to the links...and there are lots of good ones this week. Ready, set, go!
  • I usually start out the week wearing heels but even though my feet are hurting or anything (hello insoles), by Wednesday or Thursday I'm itching to get on solid ground. But as a short gal, it's easy to start looking stumpy. Check out Sally and Maria's tips for wearing flats (did you gals plan this? Because the timing is impeccable).
  • You've seen me do an easy cheesy DIY, but check out Natalie's super-awesome DIY--she turned Pam pants into sexy skinnies!
  • If you're unemployed, read this.
  • We interact with so many people during the day--this week Corporette discusses taking personal calls at work and Jane Has a Job tackles bathroom conversations. What's your take?
  • I think it's fascinating what guys wear to work.  Loving this guide to dressing your guy like his nerdiest hero. (Thanks Angie for the tip on this one!)
  • I've been a little lax on food links lately, but winter is coming and I love cooking and baking in the winter. I'm dying to try this easy-sounding recipe for Maple Syrup Caramel.
What good reads have you found floating around this week?

It was so good to meet you Angeline....you make me want to dress like a grown-up, lol. Looking forward to the next meet-up where there will be more talking and beverage sipping. Eggnog lattes perhaps?
