Twice as nice

Mossimo dress via Target - 2011 - $12 on sale (available in blue) / Gap sandals - 2010 - $20 (similar) / American Eagle outlet chain necklace - 2011 - $4 on clearance (similar)
[Worn: 08.17.11 | To: Target]

Ever have one of those mornings when you can't even put your clothes on the right way? I did. As I was about to take this dress off and put it back on the right way, I paused and noticed my reflection in the mirror. My biggest peeve about this dress is how the top sometimes gapes open, and all of a sudden it was a high-necked dress. So I left it. I don't think anyone really noticed, except for maybe the Target employees.

Have you ever worn an item backwards (or upside down or inside out)? What kinds of items work best for this kind of versatility?

  4. OMG! I cannot thank you enough for this post. I also have the blue one, and I've only worn it once because of that annoying gap. What a fun find!

  6. @ Sal - Thanks!

@ anonymous - you should try it! The neck goes up a little high and I did have to tug it down a few times during the day, but I didn't mind it too much.

@ molly marie - isn't that gap annoying? Even with a cami on underneath I feel like the edges are also popping out all the time.

  8. okay, this is awesome. the front of this dress as confused me a bit too, but it looks awesome backwards without showing too much back. thanks for sharing this little 'accident!'

  9. haha, i totally wear stuff backward. i have close to no boobies so it works better for me. and i think it's sexy in a less obvious way to show skin in the back, but not the front. i also have a forever21 dress i wear both insideout and backward. the lining inside was prettier than the print outside, ha!

  11. ooh, i have this dress and am so trying it! i loved the pattern so much that i forgave the semi-unflattering front fit - this is a perfect solution.
